Gathering Your Seeds
A Seasonal Guide for Entrepreneurs Today we delve deeper into the entrepreneurial journey, guided by the natural wisdom of the fall equinox. As the leaves change and the air cools, nature invites us to slow down and harvest the seeds of our year's efforts.
These seasonal reflections were inspired by a recent walk on the fall equinox. As I passed the bursting pods of Agapanthus and the scattering seeds of cattails, I was reminded of the importance of collecting these natural tokens of growth and renewal. Similarly, as entrepreneurs, we must also gather our conceptual seeds — ideas, inspirations, and lessons learned throughout the business year.
Just as I clipped the stems of Agapanthus to save for planting, entrepreneurs should revisit the "seeds" they've collected in their professional journey. These could be ideas jotted down on a piece of paper, or insights gained from a challenging project.
Now is the perfect time to consolidate these fragments, allowing them to mature into fully-formed strategies and plans.
In my greenhouse, seeds are left to dry and mature, a process that entrepreneurs can mimic by taking stock of their creative outputs and letting them evolve. This winter, as your physical garden rests, let your entrepreneurial ideas ferment.
Come spring, you’ll be ready to sow the most robust of these ideas into your business landscape.
As we embrace autumn, let’s also embrace the slow and deliberate process of gathering, reflecting, and preparing.
What seeds have you collected this year?
How will you nurture them into your offering?
I invite you to use this reflection to inspire you to consider all the seeds you’ve gathered and how they can influence your growth in the coming seasons. Happy harvesting!
