Burnt Toast and Business Burnout

Sometimes business burnout feels like something went wrong with you. But what if it’s not you at all? What if your energy’s just been ignored too long—and now, like burnt toast, it’s too far gone to scrape the edges clean?

Let’s talk about what that really means for conscious entrepreneurs.

I’m Kathryn Gorham, and today I’m thinking about burnt toast—and business burnout.

More similar than you'd think.

Because once something is crispy, you can't really undo it.

And in business, the same thing happens.

I used to think I could just push through burnout.

That I just needed to tweak the strategy, stretch myself a little more, push through that fog.

But the truth was, I wasn’t tired from working. I was tired from building out of alignment… from ignoring what my energy was trying to tell me.

And just like burnt toast, I kept trying to scrape off the edges and make it work.

But it was already too far gone.

You can’t fix burnout by doing more.

You can’t force clarity through effort.

If something’s cooked in the wrong frequency, no amount of topping—or butter—is going to change the fact that it’s burnt.

You need to pause.

Start fresh.

And this time, cook it in alignment with your energy.

When we build from pressure, we burn out.

When we build from clarity and ease, things rise the way they’re meant to.

So if you're feeling fried, heavy, or stuck, maybe it's not that you're broken. Maybe you’ve just been forcing something that never fit.

Oh, I’ve been there.

And that realization? It’s not the end.

It’s your invitation to begin again—this time with your frequency leading the way.
