Every Chain Is Looser Than It Looks

— You Can Lift It Off But we don’t.

Not at first.

Because it doesn’t feel like fear.

It feels like comfort.

Like safety.

Like control.

Fear rarely announces itself.

It hides behind busy.

Behind logic.

Behind taking care of others first.

We tell ourselves it’s not so bad.

Back in the 80s, I stayed in a relationship long after it stopped feeding me.

Not because I didn’t know it was draining me.

Not because I lacked strength.

But because, like so many of us, I had no model for freedom.

I had seen more examples of people enduring than of people leaving.

So I stayed.

Years later, looking back, I could see it clearly:

I had the power to lift the chain.

I just didn’t yet know what freedom could look like.

The same thing happens in business.

We’re surrounded by examples of people carrying chains—Playing small.

Staying in boxes.

Repeating loops.

Afraid to try.

Afraid to go for it.

Sitting on the fence—too safe to leap, too uncomfortable to stay.

But the truth is this:

You can’t expand your business and stay bound at the same time.The chain must go first.

Energetic loops pretending to be strategy.

We call it doing it right.

We call it playing it safe.

We say “I just need to take one more course…”

But most of the time?

It’s not strategy.

It’s an old pattern—a loop that feels locked in, but isn’t.

Fear runs in circles. Old beliefs echo like a stuck track.

But if you pause the spin, if you lift the needle—you realize the whole soundtrack was optional.

The business you want to build…

The freedom you want to live…

The clarity you’re trying to reach…

None of that happens without frequency shift.

You must release the old before you receive the new.

You must choose differently—even if it’s unfamiliar.

The stuckness?
